Liberty's Sweet Savings List

Here, I thought I would make a list of all the legitimate sites and apps I have found to help us save money. There are apps and sites out there who post real deals and help you score real savings, but it's important to distinguish between the GOOD sites and the scams. Here are some apps and sites, that while in small increments, can help you to save a little extra cash!

Receipt Hog. This is a mobile app that you can get in the app store by searching "Receipt Hog". This app is fairly easy to use. You simply take a photo of your grocery shopping receipts and upload to the app. You earn coins and spins (to win prizes and more coins) based on how much money was spent on each purchase. (This app is especially great if you frequently buy food for a large family!) After your coins accumulate, they can be redeemed for Amazon or Paypal cash. While it does take a while to accumulate coins, this could easily be a great source of extra spending money around the holidays if you start saving now! You may use my referral code "miw78536" if you would like to obtain a bonus to start of your Receipt Hogging! :)

Ibotta is my favorite money saving app of all time and can be found in the app store. This app really does pay and you can receive payment by gift card or by Paypal cash.. I have been using it for about a month and we have already made $33.80 Paypal cash! So what exactly is Ibotta? Ibotta is a rebate app, meaning you buy the listed product in the store, then submit a photo of the receipt and scan the UPC code to the app (takes only seconds). Then, after approval, the money is credited to your account. Once you acquire 10$ you can cash out. (Easy to do, hubby and I did it once on one shopping trip) The cool thing about Ibotta is they have rebates on name brands that are popular such as Dove, V8, Dr. Pepper, Kleenex, Windex and more! In addition, they have rebates called "any brand" rebates. While these are lower amounts, they can be any brand as long as they meet size requirements! You can buy the store brand and redeem any brand rebates on items such as toothpaste, milk, eggs, cheese, paper towels, and more items you were likely buying anyways. So essentially, this app gives you free money back for buying the products you already love! And my favorite part? Ibotta is a rebate app, meaning you can use your manufacturers coupons in store and STILL get the rebates after your trip! I have even gotten completely free products using the rebates in addition to manufacturers coupons! If you would like to join Ibotta and want new member bonuses, you may sign up with my referral code "gvtxcmf" :)

Receipt Pal is similar to Receipt Hog, but I have found that points accumulate faster on this app. Simply upload photos of your receipts to the app and earn points. You also can earn drawings into their weekly sweepstakes by entering receipts! Currently, points can be redeemed toward Amazon gift cards, Restaurant.com gift cards, and various charity donations. Once again, you won't make a fortune right away but doing a simple task like taking a photo of your receipts each week can add up!

Saving Star is an app I don't use as frequently but still enjoy. It is a rebate app but the rebates usually require you to spend a certain amount on the product, which is good for bigger families, but I only buy for my husband and I. The reason I still use this app is because they DO have rebates that will require you to buy two products of the same brand, which is a lesser spend. They also have a healthy produce rebate where you can get 20% back on items such as limes, strawberries, and bananas. They also occasionally have Freebie items so make sure to check the app often! This app would be wonderful for families with children who go through a lot of groceries.

Snap by Groupon is another rebate-style app. I hardly ever use it because I don't normally buy the brands they offer but it might be something you'd like to check out to see if you buy any of the products.

Checkout 51 is a savings/rebate app that I don't use as often because once again, I don't buy the brands offered. They do have a "choose your own rebate" that resets every so often and can be used toward bananas, strawberries, cucumbers, and many items you probably already buy. Using this offer can really add up over time! They also offer sweepstakes.

Jingit is a good rebate app to have loaded just in case they post a good offer. They are similar to Ibotta and the other rebate apps. My Jingit referral link. Sign up there & then get the app!
